Welcome to Shenzhen Bay Laboratory

Shenzhen Bay Laboratory

Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) is a key strategic deployment for Guangdong Province and Shenzhen to build leading international and domestic science and technology innovation centers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. SZBL is located in Guangming Science City with a planned total building area of 400,000㎡.

Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, with eyes on the global science and technology frontiers and its mission to support the National Strategic Plan layout, is committed to solving major scientific problems collaboratively. Focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer, metabolic syndromes, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and other major diseases, SZBL features BT+IT integration and multidisciplinary collaborations to develop strength in Bioinformatics, Innovative Drug, Biomedical Engineering, and other biomedical fields. SZBL is dedicated to innovations in both research and scientific administrations. Besides world-class technical support platforms, innovations in organization, internal and external collaborations, flexibilities in hiring and promotion are all key factors to attract and retain high-level talents and promote creativity. Through building a collaborative science and innovation community in the Greater Bay Area, SZBL strives to become the new global hub for life science.

2022

November

Shenzhen Bay Laboratory and China Resources Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement, and held the unveiling ceremony of the joint research center between CR SANJU and Shenzhen Bay Laboratory.

The laboratory's first incubated enterprise, BayShadow Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., was officially registered and established.

2021

July

MindSPONGE, China's first-ever open-source general-purpose molecular simulation framework, has been launched.

2020

October

On October 22, the CCP Committee of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory was officially established.

June

June 18th,SZBL settled in the new site in Guangming District.

March

On March 11, SZBL held the second meeting of its first board of directors.

January

On January 25, SZBL urgently initiated a special project for emergency prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

November 14th,Strategic cooperation with Shenzhen Guangming District Government.

August

August 6th,Pingshan Translational Medicine Center was established.

August 1st,The laboratory held the inaugural meeting of the Academic Committee and its first plenary session.

November 14th,Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) awarded.

Industry Partnerships

Shenzhen Bay Laboratory, drawing on the world's leading drug development models, focuses on five major disease areas: oncology, metabolism and inflammation, neurological disorders, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and infectious immunity. It has arranged over 50 research pipelines, with 90% of its representative projects being new chemical entities (NCEs). The laboratory is characterized by its strategy of facilitating IND/PCC (Investigational New Drug/Preclinical Candidate) submissions for preclinical drug applications.
