The Institute of Molecular Physiology at Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) invites applications for 1-2 new faculty positions at the Tenure-Track or Tenured level. We are seeking outstanding, innovative scientists to establish independent research programs.
Review of applications will begin date of publication and will continue until the positions are filled. We encourage applications from all qualified individuals, regardless of background.
Research Focus
We are specifically recruiting investigators whose research is centered on the development and application of human organoid models. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to:
1)Utilizing human organoids (e.g., liver, lung, gut, kidney) to investigate the fundamental mechanisms of organ function, inter-organ communication, development, and diseases.
2)Developing novel organoid systems to model complex human physiology or pathology.
3)Developing and using patient-derived organoids (PDOs) to model disease progression, heterogeneity, and therapeutic response.
4)Employing organoid models as robust platforms for drug screening, toxicology testing, or personalized medicine, leveraging SZBL’s institutional strengths in high-throughput drug screening.
Positions and Qualifications
Applicants at various levels are welcomed.
The basic qualifications for Tenure-track level are:
1)A Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., cell biology, physiology, bioengineering, molecular biology);
2)A strong record of research accomplishments, evidenced by high-impact publications;
3)Demonstrated potential to develop a vigorous, independent, and externally funded research program. Significant postdoctoral experience is expected;
4)A commitment to collaborative science and mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
The basic qualifications for Tenured level are:
1)A Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., cell biology, physiology, bioengineering, molecular biology);
2)A strong record of research accomplishments, evidenced by high-impact publications;
3)A proven track record of research leadership, sustained productivity, and extramural funding;
4)A commitment to collaborative science and mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
Benefits
We offer a highly competitive start-up package, generous research support, and an internationally competitive salary and benefits package. Successful candidates will have access to outstanding core facilities, including advanced imaging, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and a high-throughput drug screening platform.
Application Guide
Interested applicants should submit the following materials in a single PDF document to tangying@szbl.ac.cn with molecular_physiology@szbl.ac.cn copied to.
1)Cover Letter (indicating rank sought: Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor)
2)Curriculum Vitae (CV)
3)Statement of Research (max. 5 pages), detailing past achievements and, most importantly, future research plans centered on organoid research.
