About Public Technology Facility
The Public Technology Facility at Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) operates as a research-oriented facility aiming to meet the approaching research needs in life information science, biomedicine, and biomedical engineering.
Until now, we have established the Biomedical Research Core Facilities (BRCF) and the Laboratory Animal Center (LAC), which collaborate with other major scientific facilities in Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area. This collaborative framework promotes an open, synergistic model of innovation that integrates core excellence with regional partnerships. For more information about the public technology facility, please visit official website https://en-facilities.szbl.ac.cn/
The Biomedical Research Core Facilities (BRCF) is one of the public technical service facilities approved by SZBL. Guided by the principles of "interdisciplinary integration, advanced technology, and open sharing," it aims to promote cutting-edge research, technology transfer, and talent development. In addition to meeting the research needs of our institution, we provide full-time, full-process technical services to enterprises and institutions across the Greater Bay Area and beyond.
It currently has six facilities, over 30 full-time technical staff, and more than 90 large research instruments. Our service portfolio includes multi-omics mass spectrometry analysis, genomics, flow cytometry analysis and sorting, biophysical and chemical characterization of biomolecules, intermolecular interaction analysis, pathological sample preparation, optical and electron microscopy imaging, high-performance computing, and more. We also offer technical support in areas such as innovative drug development and precision design and manufacturing.
The Laboratory Animal Center (LAC) is one of the key technical cores of SZBL, providing standardized research services such as experimental animal breeding, animal experiments, and embryo purification and cryopreservation for life science and biopharmaceutical research in the Greater Bay Area.Committed to building a comprehensive, full - process professional technical service core, the center comprises four technical cores: experimental animal welfare and quality control, experimental technology support, facility and equipment operation and maintenance, and animal breeding management. It now offers a range of professional services, including rats and mice breeding, fostering and management, mice biological purification, sperm/embryo cryopreservation and revival, in - vitro fertilization, gene editing, experimental animal quality testing, small - animal imaging and behavioral experiments, animal experiment operations and training, and experimental design and consultation.
