
On April 11, 2024, Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL), Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation (SMART), and GE Healthcare hosted a strategic cooperation launch ceremony at the 89thChina International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF). This event marked a significant stride in pushing forward with medical technology innovation, drug diagnostics, and digital solutions.
SZBL and SMART are dedicated to fostering innovation and talent development across the entire spectrum of biomedical research and transformation, aiming to turn the Oriental Greater Bay Area into a leading center for biomedicine. SZBL and SMART possess outstanding talent teams, robust research capabilities, and extensive expertise in the fields of medical imaging, and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of major diseases. GE Healthcare is a global leader in medical imaging, ultrasound, life care solutions, and pharmaceutical diagnostics, boasting a centuries-old legacy of innovation and excellence.
In this collaboration, leveraging the exceptional talent and innovative research capabilities of SZBL and SMART, along with GE Healthcare's extensive experience in product development and leading-edge international technology, the three parties will enhance their cooperation in the development of "smart healthcare," including medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and digital solutions. Together, they will establish a joint innovation base, advance clinical research projects, and explore new approaches to the commercialization of scientific research outcomes. Additionally, in terms of talent exchange, all parties will collaborate to establish a practical internship base, explore dual employment mechanisms, and engage in high-level talent exchange initiatives.
This collaboration marks not only the beginning of resource integration and the leveraging of complementary strengths among all parties but also a new starting point for advancing biomedicine. It will significantly contribute to the development of the Oriental Greater Bay Area by enhancing the capacity of public health services.
