On November 28, an academic delegation headed by Li Rui, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Science, Sun Yat-sen University, and Professor Huang Yongsheng, Vice Dean of the School of Science, Sun Yat-sen University, visited SZBL. The two sides conducted deep-going exchange on undergraduate training, experiment-combined teaching scheme, research cooperation and so forth. Professor Liu Shubin from the University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Wang Meng from the Sun Yat-sen University, and Associate Professor Zhou Rong from Sichuan University, and Associate Professor Yuan Cenxi from the Sun Yat-sen University joined the delegation. SZBL Senior PI Niu Tianye and Associate Research Fellow Ge Xin met with the delegates.

The guests visited the exhibition hall of SZBL, where they learned about the key areas of science, core facilities, and research groups of SZBL.

At the meeting, Professor Huang Yongsheng introduced the School of Science, Sun Yat-sen University. He said that the cultivation of highly competitive talents serves as the fundamental mission of the School of Science and the School will establish high-standard undergraduatetraining program with experiment-combined teaching scheme compatible to their goal of developing world-class discipline clusters in the fields of physics, nuclear physics, and plasma physics.

Niu Tianye pointed out that with experiment-combined training scheme, students are in a more proactive position to get themselves first-hand experience with real actual scientific facilities,as well as cutting-edge scientific research methodologies and techniques, and all these will be conducive to help them consolidate academic foundation.

In the next step, the two sides will continue to tap cooperation potential on student and talent training, technology sharing and scientific research, and to facilitate the establishment of strategic partnership.
