On November 12, SZBL Executive Director, also Chinese Academician Wu Yun-Dong and his delegation visited The Seventh Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (SAHSYSU), Shenzhen. He Yulong and Pan Yihang, President and Vice President of SAHSYSU respectively, as well as other hospital department heads, welcomed the SZBL delegates.
During the visit, the two sides conducted deep-going exchange covering scientific issues on major diseases as well as basic and clinical research, forging strengthened ties for future cooperation.
Wu Yun-Dongexpressed earnest congratulation on the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Sun Yat-sen University and introduced the developments of SZBL to the SAHSYSU side. He said that SZBL has been promoting parallel progress for both basic research and clinical-oriented research, and the laboratory is open to higher level cooperation with the clinical experts at SAHSYSU. At the meeting, SZBL representative scientists, including Yan Zhiqiang, Zhou Lei, Peng Qiyu, Yu Chen, Zhang Bo, Zhang Zhe, Hou Shangguo, Deng Lin, Guo Tengfei, Rao Lang, Chen Zhicheng and Sun Zhenglong, were invited to introduced their research and discussed potential cooperation with the SAHSYSU experts.

SAHSYSU President He Yulong pointed out that the strategic vision of SZBL is in line with that of the hospital. He also called for intensified efforts from both sides to promote scientific exchange and explore more opportunities for cooperation. SAHSYSU Vice President Pan Yihang and their Clinical Research Center representatives introduced the overall and clinical research developments of the hospital to the SZBL delegation.

Going ahead, the two sides will continue to uphold open and sustained exchange and cooperation, well leverage complementarity, and jointly drive forward scientific innovation and medical development for Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area.
