July 26, SZBL officially kicked off its 2021 Summer Study Program for College Students. This summer study program admits students from China’s leading universities and offers the young scientific exchange and experience at professional level and with international standard. During the program period, these students who aspire to immerse themselves in life science research, were given opportunities to closely communicate with leading-edge sciences.The program also screens students who possess excellency in research potential to participate in major scientific research projects at national level.

The event attracted students from many well-known universities across China to participate, including Zhejiang University, who sent a designated social practice group to SZBL.The summer program started with a detailed introduction of the laboratory given by Zhang Xinhao, Assistant to the SZBL Director, who unfolded various aspects of SZBL including institutional building, scientific research, talent acquisition, party affairs and talent training.

In order to provide academically advanced study experience to the students, SZBL invited scientists from different institutes and centers to deliver talks in very frontier research topics.The open talks were highly engaged by the students.Lots of scientific questions were asked and discussed.The students visited the research labs at SZBL after the open talk session.

The July 26 summer study program also saw the unveiling of a student training base co-established by SZBL and Zhejiang University.

SZBL launches student training programs as a part to strengthen ties with the higher learning sector and promote students’ scientific literacy. In the future, SZBL will continue to innovate cooperation model with universities in terms of social demands, integrate more cross-sector and cross-disciplinary resources and jointly head for higher development.
