On December 15, the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) held the 2022 SZBL Advanced Imaging Technology Cloud Forum. The forum was divided into two sessions which are in the morning and afternoon respectively, it was attended by more than 100 people, including experts in the field of medical imaging technology and researchers in related fields of SZBL, to share and exchange the latest achievements of advanced imaging technology, creating a technical feast with a warm atmosphere. Niu Tianye, Senior Principal Investigator of SZBL presided over the forum, and nine senior industry experts or academic leaders in the research field of imaging technology were invited to give a report.

Academician Wu Yun-Dong, Executive Vice Director of SZBL, attended and delivered a speech. He gave an outline of SZBL and the medical imaging research group, briefly introduced the development status of biomedical imaging technology, and expressed a sincere welcome to all the participants.

The forum featured both the breadth of comprehensive coverage and the depth of cutting-edge exploration. With advanced imaging technology as the thread, the topics covered include X-ray excitation fluorescence, cold-cathode X-ray source, perovskite X-ray detector, low-dose CT imaging model and algorithm, imaging of the extracellular space of the brain, imaging of brain degeneration, and clinical applications of artificial intelligence. From the core imaging algorithm and mathematical theory to the application of clinical imaging diagnostic technology, from the “bottleneck” of the hardware development of the core imaging to the domestic high-end imaging equipment, this forum focused on the frontier issues concerned by researchers and medical device manufacturers, providing scientific ideas for the future development direction of imaging technology and technical routes for the innovation and development of medical devices, and giving brand-new ideas and inspiration to the young researchers attending the forum.

The forum focused on cutting-edge scientific issues in the research field of imaging technology, aiming to further promote deep cooperation and high-quality development in the research field of medical imaging technology in China. The atmosphere of the forum was very warm, and all participants expressed that they had gained a lot and looked forward to more brilliant development in the field of imaging technology in the future.
