On July 5, Shenzhen Vice Mayor Zheng Hongbo and his delegation visited SZBL. SZBL leadership, including Wu Yun-Dong, Hu Xiaojun and Tu Huan, welcomed and met with the guests.

Zheng Hongbo fully affirmed the staged progress of SZBL over the past two years. He pointed out that the Shenzhen City places great importance on SZBL and will continue to offer support to the laboratory. He hoped that SZBL will continue to avail the opportunity of dual development and yield for more positive results for the city’s growth.

Wu Yun-Dong discussed laboratory development in terms of scientific research, talent acquisition, platform construction, and technology transfer. He said that SZBL has been fostering an IT+BT integration strategy to promote cross-cutting efforts in addressing major scientific challenges and exploring frontier technology. The laboratory will continue to bring together leading scientific and intellectual forces in life science and support the further development of Guangming District and Shenzhen, Wu added.

After the meeting, Zheng Hongbo and his delegation visited SZBL’s exhibition hall and technology platforms to learn about the operation status and resource sharing of the scientific facilities.
