On October 18-19, the World Young Scientist Summit 2020 (WYSS) International Forum of Green Chemistry was held by the Wenzhou University at Wenzhou, China. The forum invited more than 40 world-leading scientists to share and inspire ideas and new theories of chemistry, catalysis, and environment. SZBL Executive Vice Director and Professor of Peking University, Wu Yun-Dong, attended the forum and gave a keynote speech on his research.

Collaborative research among Prof. Wu Yun-Dong's lab and researchers from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) had discovered new reactions of ruthenium catalyzed addition reactions to alkynes based on mechanistic understanding. Their research represents progress at research in hydroboration of alkynes and should also open up a new synthetic avenue for alkyne transformations.

The International Forum of Green Chemistry serves as the only session featuring the field of chemistry at the 2020 World Young Scientist Summit. Organized by the Wenzhou University, this year’s forum attracted renowned academicians and scholars to deliver 36 on-site and virtual academic reports during the the two-day event.
