On May 7, Wang Youming, Party Chief of the Shenzhen Science, Technology and Innovation Commission, and Cai Ying, Deputy Party Chief and Mayor of Guangming District, led delegation to SZBL. The delegation inspected the operation of research facilities and learned about the developments of SZBL.

On the meeting with SZBL representatives, Wang Youming spoke highly of the achievements SZBL had made over the past two years. He said that the laboratory had attained staged progress in establishing systematic research and administration mechanisms, and stimulating intellectual dynamics through acquisition of talents. Wang Youming hoped that SZBL would further improve ability to unlock bottleneck problems and create more favorable mechanism for talent acquisition. He also pointed out the importance to deliver technology transfer and enhance efforts in technological innovation, which would lead the path to high-quality development of Shenzhen.

Cai Ying expressed the hope that SZBL continues to set an exemplary role in driving the development of the Guangming Science City. She also noted that the District Government would fully support the platform construction of SZBL and work with the laboratory to promote the talent attraction of Guangming.

SZBL Executive Vice Director Wu Yun-Dong briefed the delegation with the latest progress and development plan of SZBL. While expressing appreciation for the supports from related government departments, Wu Yun-Dong also said that SZBL would step further in science and technology development regarding national strategies, and deepen synergistic efforts to make real impacts on original sci-tech innovations.
