On March 23, SZBL welcomed a delegation led by Shenzhen Vice Mayor Wu Yihuan. The delegation investigated the construction progress of SZBL and met with SZBL leadership.

Wu Yihuan and her delegation visited the exhibition hall and learned in details about the laboratory’s overall planning, operation mode, talent acquisition and scientific research. Wu Yihuan highly acclaimed SZBL’s mission-driven planning and platform construction based on national strategic demands and cutting-edge health science topics.

On the meeting, Wu Yihuan said that the developments achieved by SZBL over last two years were exciting, and she hoped that the laboratory would continue to strengthen collaborative research in bioinformatics, biomedicine and medical imaging, and explore flexible innovation in system and mechanism. Wu Yihuan praised the laboratory upon the cooperation with leading hospitals, which facilitates the integration of existing basic research and clinical strengths to deliver stronger cross-sector scientific forces and higher accuracy in overcoming grand medical challenges. Finally, Wu Yihuan expressed anticipation that the cooperation between SZBL and other medical institutions should be distinctive, coordinated, cohesive and win-win to superimpose the advantages of multiple parties and release multiplier effect.

Joining the delegation were officials from different departments of Shenzhen Municipality and Guangming District government agencies.
