SZBL Scientist Guo Tengfei Elected the First Continent Lead - Asia of the ISTAART PIA Executive Committee

Recently, the Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment (ISTAART), a subsidiary of Alzheime’s Disease International (ADI), has released the namelist for its new Professional Interests Areas (PIA) Executive Committee on its official website (https://www.alz.org/ISTAART). Among which, SZBL scientist Dr. Guo Tengfei, became the first Continent Lead - Asia of the Executive Committee of the Professional Interest Area to Elevate Early Career Researchers (PIA to PEERs). Dr. Guo Tengfei joined SITARIST in 2019 and has been participating and promoting various academic and membership activities of ISTAASRT since then. Dr. Guo Tengfei joined SITARIST in 2019 and has been participating and promoting various academic and membership activities of ISTAASRT since then. Dr Guo’s being elected as one of the new continent leads is not only an recognition for his academic contribution and professional expertise in Alzheimer Disease (AD), but an enhancement of China’s international influence in the field. He expressed his trust and support for ISTAART, and said that he would continue to support the development of young researchers in the Asian AD research community with a high sense of responsibility.

In 2008, the Alzheimer’s Association opened a new door to support the dementia research community by

creating the International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment. Headquartered in Chicago, ISTAART provides professional focuses on Alzheimer’s and dementia science, leading disease care, support and research globally. Members share knowledge, fuel collaboration, and advance research to find more effective ways to detect, treat and prevent Alzheimer's and other dementias. Among these efforts, the PIA to PEERs aims to convene and support early-career researchers from all over the world to study and explore Alzheimer’s and help them achieve career growth with opportunities, resources and strong global networking.
