The ever-accelerating progress of the educational and scientific landscape is demanding more interaction and integration between science and education. As part of its scientific undertakings, exploring new mechanism for talent cultivation has been a focus of SZBL to enhance personnel development, research effectiveness and innovation. To achieve this, SZBL has been collaborating with universities in co-establishing student training and internship base with the mission to find new approaches for cultivating interdisciplinary talents and offer students with trans-disciplinary research skill as well as cutting-edge program experience.
Recently, SZBL welcomed delegations from the School of Life and Health Sciences, CUHK-SZ and the College of Life Sciences, Zhejiang University to the laboratory.

A cooperation agreement on the establishment of a student internship base was signed between SZBL and Zhejiang University College of Life Sciences during the visit. The agreement, highlighting the goal of exploring new student training mechanism, provides multi-pronged activities for student social practice, sci-tech cooperation and educational training.
CUHK-SZ is one of the existing partners of SZBL. The visiting delegates from the School of Life and Health Sciences, CUHK-SZ discussed with SZBL representatives on further deepening exchange and cooperation.

SZBL is among the scientific forces to build the International Sci-Tech Innovation Center of the Greater Bay Area as well as the Comprehensive National Science Center. To better serve national scientific missions, SZBL has been promoting its intellectual strengths since establishment. More than 80 research groups were set up in 14 subordinate institutes with scientific personnel accounts for over 80% of the laboratory’s total workforce, consolidating the intellectual foundation for further extending scientific, educational and talent training cooperation.

So far, SZBL has co-established talent training programs with The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Capital Medical University, Southern University of Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong - Shenzhen and Zhejiang University. The joint talent training programs serve as a channel for SZBL to absorb PhD candidates among these cooperative institutions who possess distinct expertise in the fields of life sciences and chemistry, and strengthen partnership network for talent cultivation.
According to Zhang Xinhao, Assistant to SZBL Director, SZBL will step up cooperation with universities to promote intellectual exchange and vitality, train future innovators, and to make the most of its achievements to serve the development of the Greater Bay Area.
