On August 6, Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL) welcomed a delegation from the Suzhou Science and Technology Bureau. Deputy Director-general WU Weipeng led the delegation. They met with SZBL representatives and conducted exchanges on institutional mechanism, talent acquisition and related topics.

Deputy Director-general WU Weipeng and his delegation were first taken to a tour around the SZBL exhibition hall. LI Chao, Head of SZBL Office of Collaboration and Planning, provided a briefing on the developments and achievements of SZBL. SZBL is actively fostering trans-disciplinary and synergistic efforts to push forward its research missions in major diseases, technological breakthroughs and industrial transformation. Currently, the laboratory has established 15 subordinate institutes, 9 technology supporting platforms and a strong administrative team, and has partnered with 10 leading science and education institutions so far.

As a part of the visit, Deputy Director-general WU Weipeng and his delegation also met with SZBL representatives, and learned about the planning and construction of the interim and permanent sites of SZBL. Both parties exchanged further on innovating talent acquisition models at the meeting, and agreed on stepping up communication and cooperation in the future.
