August 18, a delegation assembled by representatives from China’s health agencies, famous enterprises and regional public institutions visited Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (SZBL). SZBL leadership welcomed and met with the delegates.

The delegates, including National Health Commission Department of Planning Deputy Director-general LIU Wenxian, National Health Commission Division of Big Data Deputy Director ZHAO Fei, Chinese CDC Information Center Deputy Director SU Xuemei and other representatives, were taken to a tour around SZBL exhibition hall and lab spaces, and were invited to a meeting with SZBL leadership as a part of their visit.

In the meeting, all parties discussed on the construction of an integrated platform for epidemics control and prevention, as well as medical information technology development. Given the global coronavirus crisis, the attendees shared experience on emergency response and joint control and prevention to the coronavirus outbreak, and discussed technology-based measures to optimize the monitoring, control and prevention of such epidemics. They swapped ideas on the development of a smart and all-dimensional system for epidemic monitoring, control and prevention.

LIU Wenxian fully apprised the efforts of SZBL in establishing special research programs in the fight against coronavirus. He also expressed anticipations to Shenzhen City in further enhancement and upgrade for a control and prevention system against epidemics. LIU called on relevant parties at all levels to unite resources and strengths to best confront the current epidemic.
