March 2, ZHONG Hai, Vice-chairman of the Science, Technology and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, led a delegation to SZBL to inspect on the latest efforts on the control and prevention of COVID-19 and work resumption. Senior officials of SZBL joined the inspection.

ZHONG learned about the laboratory’s staged approach on managing work resumption. He brought forward requirements for the laboratory to conduct safety management and reinforce emergency response against the epidemic, saying that the laboratory should follow to benchmarks made by government ministries at all levels and enhance the preparedness on taking rapid and effective action when facing an epidemic. ZHONG also encouraged the laboratory to use different information platforms to publicize relevant knowledge, enhancing overall health literacy of the SZBL community.

During the visit, ZHONG was briefed with detail information on SZBL’s latest research in COVID-19 and other research progression. He expressed anticipations for these scientific endeavors to realize positive impact.
