A Shenzhen Bay Laboratory(SZBL) delegation led by SZBL Special Advisor LIN Jianhua visited Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences(SIAT) on April 16, 2019. The SZBL delegation received warm welcome by the President of SIAT, FAN Jianping, and other SIAT deputies. SZBL delegation took visit to the SIAT exhibition hall, MRI Lab, Ultrasound Modulation of Neuronal Activity Lab, Bio-Medicine Lab, Maker Institute(CAS), SIAT-MIT Brain Cognition and Brain Disease Institute as well as Institute of Synthetic Biology, before proceeding to the meeting session.

During the meeting, there were given reports from the SIAT deputies captured topics on the current status regarding Institute of Bio-medicine and Health Engineering, latest techniques in precision cancer treatment and big-data in healthcare. FAN Jianping said, SIAT has well-cultivated technology in medical engineering, medical apparatus and healthcare big data, which would be greatly conducive to the development of SZBL. FAN also expressed his expectation to establish partnership between SZBL and SIAT.

In speaking, LIN Jianhua touched the fact that SIAT has been experiencing rapid growth over the years, with a noteworthy operational framework that emphasizes broad industrial outreach and technology transfer to the frontline markets. This is shared with the SZBL mission to integrate health sciences resources, enhance civic services, build up scientific platforms and to fuel industrial prosperity, LIN added.

While expressing congratulations on the progress SIAT had made, WU Yun-Dong, the Executive Vice Director of SZBL pointed out that the Lab would convene the best minds and deliver leading-edge research through the creation of advanced platforms.

During the visit, LIN Jianhua highlighted that the collaborative efforts from partners will make a difference on the development of SZBL. He wished win-win cooperation between SZBL and SIAT in the field of medical engineering, medical apparatus, healthcare big data and beyond.
